Laura Gavala attended Texas Tech University, getting her Bachelor’s Degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management. In 2006 she came to Denali National Park to complete an internship for college, it was during that summer she fell in love with Alaska. After graduating in December of 2006 she moved back to Alaska and has worked in the Alaska tourism ever since.
In 2007 and 2008 she worked for ARAMARK Harrison Lodging in Denali National Park. Seeking new challenges she moved on to Premier Alaska Tours where she learned a great deal about escorted tours and the way their operations impact tourism in Alaska. She is currently a Reservation Agent for Alaska Tour & Travel where she has been for two seasons adding to her extensive knowledge of Alaska tourism.
Laura and her fiancée take full advantage of the Alaskan summer by travelling extensively around the state. They enjoy visiting south-central and interior Alaska’s unique towns and communities’ as well as remote locations for camping and hiking. Her two favorite areas of Alaska are Homer and the Copper River Basin.
