Whittier to Seward Transportation

Q: We need to travel from Whittier to Seward after we leave our cruise ship there. Is there a bus service to Seward, and if so, what times are available?

A: There is no direct transportation service from Whittier to Seward. The only way to get to Seward after a Whittier cruise ship arrival would be to take our 9:45am Park Connection bus from Whittier to Anchorage and then that afternoon take our 3:00pm bus from Anchorage to Seward.

Alaska Bus Travel Pricing

Q: Are the prices we see listed for bus travel one way or round trip?

A: The prices listed for motorcoach travel with Alaska Tour & Travel are all one way fares. We do however have a roundtrip special between Anchorage and Seward if you go there and back in the same day.

Transportation between Anchorage and Denali

Q: What is the cost to get to Denali from Anchorage?

A: The Park Connection Motorcoach runs 2 daily services from Anchorage to Denali. The morning departure is $80 and the afternoon departure is $90. The railroad offers multiple classes of service and departs once daily from Anchorage at 8:15am. The Standard Class is $150 per adult and the Gold Star Dome service is $235 per adult. You can also book the McKinley Explorer Rail, which is very similar to the Gold Star Dome but at a lesser cost of $218.00 per adult.

Train Service from Whittier

Q: Our Princess cruise ends in Whittier. Is there train service from Whittier to Anchorage, and what are the departure times?

A: The train departs only one time per day from Whittier and that is at 6:45pm. Since you are coming in on a Princess Cruise you can also use the Park Connection Motorcoach that departs from the cruise ship terminal at 9:45am and arrives in Anchorage at noon.

Transportation to Kenai

Q: I would like to travel to Kenai, Alaska by bus. Can you tell me how much that costs?

A: Unfortunately, we do not offer a bus that goes to Kenai. The only way to get to Kenai is to either fly in from Anchorage or drive. You can rent a car in Anchorage and drive down – it is about a three hour drive. There is no scheduled bus or train service to the city of Kenai.

Denali to Whittier By Bus

Q: Is it possible to catch a coach from Denali to Whittier to arrive in Whittier in time to depart at 11.30pm by ferry? Our ferry date is the 4th of June, 2012.

A: The Park Connection only goes to Whittier on Princess cruise ship days. Luckily, the 4th of June is a cruise ship day, so we would be able to get you from Denali to Whittier in one day. We generally leave Denali about 8am and arrive into Anchorage about 1:30-2pm. Then we depart from Anchorage at 3pm for Whittier. It is only about 60 miles. We travel through the Whittier tunnel during the 4:30-4:45pm opening and arrive in Whittier about 5:00pm.

A: The Park Connection Motorcoaches do have restrooms on board. The coaches are highway quality deluxe motorcoaches with comfortable seating, ample leg room and large picture windows.

Park Connection Bus

Q: What is the best way to get from the airport to your bus terminal in Anchorage?

A: To get from the airport to take the Park Connection Motorcoach Service you will need to take a taxi cab. Our morning coaches depart from the Egan Convention Center and the afternoon coaches depart from the Anchorage Museum. Both departure points are in downtown Anchorage. It should cost between $20 and $30 to get downtown.

Bus Departure Locations

Q: We are flying into Anchorage, Alaska at 2am and trying to get to Denali to visit our daughter. Does your morning bus pick up at the airport?

A: The Park Connection does not offer departures from the Anchorage airport. The 7AM bus from Anchorage to Denali  departs from the Egan Convention Center in downtown Anchorage. A cab is the best way to get to the Egan Center from the Airport and it takes about 15 to 20 minutes.

Transportation Anchorage to Whitehorse

Q: We are arriving in Anchorage and picking up a tour in Whitehorse,YT. Is there a train or Greyhound type of bus we can take and what would the cost be – travelling early Aug 2011?

A: Our company specializes in the interior region of Alaska (Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali, Fairbanks, Seward and Whittier). Unfortunately we do not offer any transportation services to Canada at this time. Alaska Yukon Trails offers transportation from Fairbanks to Whitehorse. I would recommend taking the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Fairbanks and then connecting with the shuttle to Whitehorse. You would need to overnight in Fairbanks because the train arrives in Fairbanks at 8:00pm and the shuttle departs at 6:00am. The transportation from Anchorage to Whitehorse would cost about $405 per person.
