Railroad GoldStar Service

Q: What is the difference between the Gold Star and Adventure class on the Alaska Railroad?
A: Gold Star is the highest level of service on the Alaska Railroad. The Gold Star car has a complete upper dome which allows for optimum viewing. Also, unlike the Adventure cars the Gold Star car has a large vestibule or deck on the second level which offers outdoor viewing and clear photo opportunities. In the Gold Star class you will also receive a complimentary gift and unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. The Gold Star has a full service dining restaurant, whereas the Adventure class has “grab and go” service which you can take back to your seat. In addition, Goldstar passengers receive a pin that identifies you as a Goldstar passenger and allows you access to all the other rail cars so you aren’t just confined to one.
